You know the way when you do that self talk in your head. We all do it. Sometimes we do a running commentary to ourselves. Maybe you're in a group fo people and you're listening to someone rabbiting on about something and to be honest to yourself, you really couldn't care less what they did. And then the running commentary takes off in your head.
"Get me out of here." "I don't want to listen to that crap." .... and so on.
or, sometimes you do a lot of self criticism, self doubt. You all know what I'm talking about.
Next time that happens, that is, when the running commentary gets going, when the self criticism starts.
Just do the following: imagine giving the self talk, that running commentary a smile. Yes. A big huge ear to ear smile, saying what it's saying.
Do you now notice anything? What do you notice? Does giving the commentary a big huge smile , an ear to ear smile, change how you are feeling?
