I remember some time ago, speaking with a colleague and saying, "I'm crap at writing", "I don't know what to write." Their response was very interesting. They told me, "write you are crap at writing." And I did.
In other words, I took it that my colleague was telling me to write how I feel, just plain and simple. No ifs or buts, just describing what I am currently experiencing. You see, taking your time, focussing on the detail, each step at a time achieves a purpose. The real purpose of this is to get out of yourself and onto paper or a word file on the computer all of the crap, all of the spiraling, ruminating thoughts out of you and into some form of text and or narrative.
Want to know what I discovered? I discovered that when I get out of my head all of the non-sense, it ( they) somehow changes. The nonsense changes, the thoughts don't have the same power over me as previously. They have changed. The power I previously thought they had over me had diminished or in some cases completely disappeared. That was a surprise.
My message to you is this: You are in the driving seat, you are in charge, and it's only by you taking command and grabbing that steering wheel and going in the direction you want to go in, do you realise that it's not so difficult after all. Then you feel confident with a purpose.
You also have within you, all of the necessary resources that are needed. It just takes time to discover them and to begin to use them to your advantage rather than your disadvantage.
So, start writing something and stick with it and I'd almost guarantee you, you will get better and better and also feel better about yourself. Your days and weeks begin to improve and you gain much more clarity on your whole purpose for being on this earth.
Write, write and write some more, you might just get a really good uplifting surprise.
